Salary - £36,498 per annum

Hours - Full-time, 35.75 hours a week

Contract - Temporary, 6 months

Location - Carron Pl, Leith, Edinburgh

 

Are you a technical expert with a keen eye for detail who thrives in complex, safety-critical environments?

 

We are looking for a hands-on Service Manager to lead the delivery of a high-quality, compliant and customer-focused maintenance service across a diverse portfolio of sports and leisure facilities.

 

In this role, you will provide visible leadership, manage multi-trade teams, and ensure that both planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered efficiently and in full accordance with legislation and best practice.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, manage and develop a skilled team of trades and technical staff, including performance management, appraisals and ongoing development.
  • Oversee all planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring work is prioritised, scheduled and delivered in line with relevant legislation and guidelines and the Edinburgh Leisure Asset Management Plan.
  • Plan and manage resources across planned and reactive maintenance, including the procurement and management of external contractors and specialist services to ensure best value, compliance and quality of delivery.
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex technical, operational and customer issues from trades staff and the helpdesk.
  • Oversee accurate use of the CAFM system, ensuring all data is captured in line with standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and staff training.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • A technical or construction-related qualification to at least HND level or equivalent, ideally with a management element.
  • Proven experience leading multi-trade maintenance teams within a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrable experience planning and resourcing maintenance activities, including procuring and managing external contractors to ensure compliance, value for money and quality of delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Extensive experience in operating in accordance with H&S policies, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
