Assistant Greenkeeper

Salary – £25,005 per annum (£13.45 per hour)

Hours – Full-time, 35.75 hours per week

Contract – Seasonal (April to September)

Location – Silverknowes Golf Course

We are looking for friendly, hands-on multitasker to join our team of Assistant Greenkeepers and help us keep our outdoor spaces looking amazing and running smoothly.

You will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and upkeep of our golf course. You will need to take a proactive approach to health and safety to ensure our facilities are fit for purpose. This will include:

• Daily setup of the golf course for play and a safe environment for customers and staff.
• Bunker maintenance, grass cutting, litter picking, and assisting in carrying out maintenance programs, including top dressing and fertilising.
• Organising and controlling work to ensure the efficient use of labour, materials, and machinery.
• Ensuring all equipment and machinery checks are carried out and recorded, and any faults and repairs are reported.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience in safely operating a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment to perform grounds maintenance duties on the golf courses and grounds.
• Approachable, adaptable, and helpful personality, with the ability to work both autonomously and within an experienced team.
• (Desirable) Previous greenkeeping related experience.
• (Desirable) Spraying certificates: PA1 & PA6.
• (Desirable) (LANTRA) Certificate of training-Chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting and felling trees.
• (Desirable) Certificate in: Safe use of abrasive wheels (PUWER) compliance.
