·       83% of older adults do not meet physical activity and muscle strengthening recommendations
·       Individuals over the age of 65 are the least active of any age group

Moving is good for us, but statistics show us that as we get older, we become less active.

Our Ageing Well programme has been developed to support older adults to stay active in later life.  We deliver a wide range of activities from walking and cycling to dancing and photography and all our activities are either supported or led by volunteers who are all older adults themselves!

Our volunteers are the heart of our Ageing Well programme and were awarded with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2018 in recognition of their outstanding work.

We are looking for someone to support this amazing group of people and ensure we have a team of happy, enthusiastic volunteers who feel valued.  You will be involved in all aspects of volunteer management from recruitment and training to support and evaluation so previous experience of managing volunteers will be advantageous.

You should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and an appetite for developing and inspiring others.

Our aim is to inspire Edinburgh to be a more active and healthy city by creating opportunities for everyone to move more. Be a part of this movement and apply today!

Closing date: Wednesday 29th September 2021
Assessment date: Either 7th or 8th October 2021
