Living with health conditions like dementia and obesity can make living an active, healthy life more challenging and can increase the risk of can increases the risk of developing long-term health conditions such as type II diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and some cancers.  

Our Active Communities team use the power of physical activity and sport to help those in need improve their health and wellbeing. We are looking for an individual to join our team with a passion for physical activity and energy and drive to help us support more people to live active healthy lives.  

As an Active Communities Supervisor your primary role will be to support the delivery and development of our Movement for Memories programme supporting people living with dementia to get active and live better for longer.
 
According to Alzheimer’s Scotland statistics there are currently over 7,600 people in Edinburgh living with dementia.  As our population ages and lives longer, it is expected that 1 in 3 people born in the UK this year will develop Dementia in their lifetime.  

It’s a job where every day is different and where you can make a difference every day.  As a result, we’re looking for someone who loves variety, is interested in helping people and is always up for a challenge, as well as being enthusiastic, motivated and ready to hit the ground running.
