People living with chronic conditions are twice as likely to be inactive even though regular physical activity is a proven to help the management of over 40 long term health conditions.
Our Active Communities team use the power of physical activity to help people improve their health and wellbeing and our Fit for Health programme supports people living with long-term health conditions, including cancer to manage their health condition and live a more active and healthier life.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Specialist Health Instructor to help us get more people active. You should have exceptional motivational skills along with a passion for physical activity. This role will involve developing and delivering physical activity sessions across the city which improve participant fitness, confidence, and motivation.
You are required to have a Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification but a Level 4 qualification in Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) or Cancer Rehab would be advantageous.
